The building which is on two floors and totals 647m² is of blockwork cavity wall construction with white rendered finish with blue relief panels, reclaimed slate roof and powder coated aluminium windows and doors. The first floor is accessed by a lift. Ample car parking, external lighting and CCTV installation are also featured.
The restricted nature of the site was overcome by RLD erecting its own tower crane on site which greatly assisted construction activities.
The Medical Centre comprises 5 consulting rooms for doctors, a nurse’s consultation and treatment room, health visitor’s room, records and administration areas, and a practice manager and staff and service development rooms. The Centre also contains a separately run pharmacy business.
The waiting area is particularly impressive with its open two storey ceiling and its double bank of electrically operated Velux windows making the area light and airy.
