This new maintenance facility for the University research ship is built at the water's edge. It is a two-storey development with basement, which incorporates three permanent cranes to enable safe handling/transportation of ship parts.
The use of a "Guaranteed Maximum Price" type contract provided us with the challenge of overcoming the problems associated with working directly adjacent the sea. Coupled with the fact that the site is extremely tight in terms of space, this made for a very interesting project indeed.
