Through our instructor Mr Martin Jones we conduct training and assessment for the
CPS Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) and offer training in the following
CPCS categories:
> Forward Tipping Dumper > Excavator 180 below 5T > Excavator 360 below 5T
> Excavator 180 above 5T > Excavator 360 above 5T > Telescopic Handlers
> Rough Terrain Forklift > Skid Steer Loaders > Ride on Rollers
In-house training is offered for the following:
> Mobile Elevating Works Platforms > Mobile Alloy Towers Systems
> Mounting of abrasive wheels > Safe use of cartridge operated tools
> Site inductions > Risk Assessments / Method Statements
> Safety in excavations
In February 2005 RLD Training Division was granted approval by the CITB City&Guilds
to offer the following NVQs
QUA368 Specialised Plant and Machinery Level 1
QUA369 Specialised Plant and Machinery Level 2
We are working towards all our staff and operatives having
Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards by 2010
At RLD we have our own CITB approved Training Division and training requirements are regularly identified.
We offer internal training and organise external courses and seminars. RLD have always encouraged staff development and promotion and have several apprentices. Four members of the head office staff have been promoted after we financed and supported their further education.
